Gordon Smith has over three decades of experience in telecommunications and network engineering, spanning network design, security, and automation. His career has taken him across roles in New Zealand and Australia, where he has designed and maintained core IP networks, led major infrastructure projects, and provided tier 3 support for complex enterprise, service provider, and carrier environments. Gordon is a Wireshark Certified Network Analyst and Palo Alto Accredited Configuration Engineer, with deep expertise in traffic analysis, firewall architecture, and building hardened network segments.

In recent years, Gordon has focused on network automation and security tooling — developing Ansible playbooks for configuration management, Python-based diagnostic and automation tools, and publishing scripts for migrating firewall configurations. He brings a security-first mindset shaped by years of hands-on experience with DDoS mitigation, intrusion analysis, and protocol-level fault diagnosis. Beyond telecommunications, Gordon is a registered paramedic with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Paramedicine. He founded GSW Systems to bring his deep technical expertise to businesses seeking reliable, secure, and efficiently managed network solutions.
